Feel for your shoulder getting grabbed then grab the ball before the other team.

Safe Touch

Practice safe touch in all activities:

  • Ask permission

  • Try to only hold hands

  • When holding out a hand please make hands spoons not forks

  • Do not touch private areas like chest, groin, or butt.

  • Be respectful to each other

Game Instructions

Setup:

  • You will need one extra facilitator or a volunteer to run this game.

  • Place two even rows of chairs like two trains next to each other with a row down the middle to walk, everyone should be sitting behind or in front of someone.

  • Make sure chairs are close enough to grab the shoulders of the person in front of you.

  • The front chair should be empty facing towards the train of chairs with a dodge ball placed on it.

  • Split the group into two teams and have them sit in the chairs while grabbing the persons shoulders in front of them.

Play:

  1. The main facilitator will be crouching in the back and will count to 3. Everyone must be quiet, if someone speaks, they get minus 1 point for their team.

  2. The main facilitator will crouch in the back and flip a coin. The last person in each line will be watching the coin, everyone else must be looking forward waiting. If it lands on Heads the last person will squeeze the shoulders of the person in front of them.

  3. That person will then squeeze the shoulders of the person in front of them and so forth till it gets to the first person.

  4. If the first person feels their shoulders squeezed, they will grab the ball in front of them. If they grab the ball before the other team they get a point. The second facilitator will be up front watching to make sure who grabs the ball first and if they grabbed it correctly.

  5. If both teams grabbed the ball and the coin was heads then both teams rotated everyone forward (everyone moves one chair forward, except the first person they move to the last chair).

  6. If a team thinks someone squeezed their shoulder but did not and they grab the ball that team loses 1 point and rotates back (Everyone moves one chair back, so the person in the back moves to the first chair). They grabbed the ball incorrectly.

  7. First team to 10 points wins

RULES & SUPPLIES

Rules:

  • No talking, except for the instructors

  • No kicking the chairs

  • Make everyone feel comfortable

  • No one may look at the coin accept the last person in each line


Supplies

Note: all supplies are located in the long and skinny storage room downstairs Main Lodge

  • Enough chairs for everyone plus 2

  • 2 dodge balls

  • 1 coin
