Main border, divider line, and Prisons are all outlined with cones
The treasure trove is a circle of rope
Camper team piles are milk crates
Play:
This game has two teams: Campers as one and Staff as the other. You will need a lot of staff and campers to play this game.
The object of the game is for the staff to try and catch the campers and put them in one of the two prisons. The camper’s goal is to steal the treasure from the staff side of the field. If a Camper is tagged, they must drop their treasure and go straight to prison. Staff are allowed to collect treasure from the field and put it back in the trove.
In the part of the field where the prisons and the treasure is, staff members may run to try and catch campers. They may also throw dodgeballs at the campers to try and get them out. Campers that are tagged by a staff member or hit with a dodgeball must go to one of the two prisons. Dodge balls may only be thrown at campers on the side of the field with the prisons/staff side.
Staff members may cross the boundary line to the camper’s side. HOWEVER, once on the camper side, staff members must only hobble or walk slowly in a straight line. They can only change direction when they reach the edge of the boundary OR when they tag a camper. Campers hit by dodgeballs on the camper side of the field are not out.
If a camper makes it to the prison without getting tagged, they may free one camper and both walk back with their hands on their heads till they reach the camper side of the field. They cannot steal any treasure.
If campers make it to the treasure trove, they may stand in it for 12 seconds before being attacked. They may only steal one piece of treasure at a time. Staff members may call a jail break if they capture the majority of the campers and want the game to continue longer.
The facilitator may tell staff an “ice storm” has hit so all of staff must freeze and can’t attack for 5-8 seconds.
The game ends when the campers have stolen all the pieces of treasure or when we run out of time.
Count the treasure to see who has won.
Blue is worth 1 point, Red is worth 3 points, and Green is worth 5 points
