Helium Hula-Hoop

Aspen Grove in upper meadow

The group must lower the hula-hoop to the ground without letting go.

Safe Touch

Practice safe touch in all activities:

  • Ask permission

  • Try to only hold hands

  • When holding out a hand please make hands spoons not forks

  • Do not touch private areas like chest, groin, or butt.

  • Be respectful to each other

Game Instructions

Game Instructions:

  • Facilitator supervises throughout activity

  • Facilitators should spot, when necessary, by holding out their hands in a spoon shape ready to catch or lend a hand to participants. Prioritize neck and head safety.

  • No running or jumping or playing on low rope activities unless instructed otherwise.

  1. The group all circles around the hula-hoop. (make sure there is enough space for everyone.)

  2. Have the group hold up their hands, elbows in and make finger guns, they must stay at a right angle.

  3. Place the hula-hoop on their hands, holding down for them.

  4. The instructor will then let go and the group must lower the hula-hoop to the ground but cannot take their hands off it.

  5. Restart this as much as needed or until group successfully lowers the hula-hoop to the ground.

  6. You may restrict people from talking to make it harder or encourage others to lead.

WARNING - participants will scream at each other in frustration. Be prepared to defuse tension.
